Air‑actuated failsafe valves for screen‑outs

Had a near‑miss during a 02:30 screen‑out on a 10k spread when the manual dump took two hands and five seconds to move; anyone running air‑actuated, spring‑return failsafes on the zipper or treating manifold, and how are you integrating them with ESDs and pressure alarms to speed shut‑in without creating inadvertent trips? I’m hunting for setups that cut human load during high‑rate events and want real‑world notes on maintenance intervals and cold‑weather reliability.

We’ve had good luck with air spring-returns on the zipper using energized-to-open solenoids and a small local air bottle/quick‑exhaust at the actuator, so loss of air = shut and it still beats the 02:30 bicep workout. To avoid “no inadvertent trips,” we gate the ESD: high-pressure AND pumps-in-gear, 1–2 s debounce, low-air inhibit, and a latched reset. What’s your PLC/ESD and air supply setup — can you add that permissive/debounce block at the panel?
